This took a few attempts to learn how to fly, but now my 8-year-old is an expert. Best used ouside - it needs lots of space - on a calm day as you need to be an expert to learn how to keep in in the air when the wind blows. Huge amount of fun and much better than some of the "spinning" two-channel helecoptors!Unlike other reviewers mine came with instructions in many languages which included English and the build quality of the bird and controller are fine - no breakages. The "zero force" launch technique is essential for flight.Hours of fun and the quick recharge (10 mins) is good news (Don't leave it on charge after 10 mins - it simply drains the batteries in the controller). On that note, one reviewer complained at the expense of batteries - simply buy a couple of packs of AA Ni-MH (£2.50 for a pack of 4 from Aldi) and recharge them when they run low - not rocket science! - you get about 10 flights before you need to recharge them.I was lucky - Play.com sale got… more »

We bought this for our 10 year old for Christmas and the whole family have had hours of fun. Best used outdoors on a very still day. That way you get-the-hang-of-it so you can manage more confined spaces indoors. Seems quite robust and the novelty hasn't yet worn off - we recommend it!

Fails to recharge on both of the two models I have tried after only a couple hours use !
The rudder is also intermitent in use, which makes it fall !
All in all a waste of money - If the faults were resolved this would be a good toy though.
